The Vice President for mGURUSH Mobile Money, the country’s leading mobile money provider Joseph Arinaitwe says South Sudanese should expect more exciting innovative services from the company after announcing the secure and seamless payment of electricity bills for Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO) subscribers in partnership with Zain Telecom.
“In line with our digital transformational agenda, and together with our partner JEDCO, we are pleased to offer for the very first time ever, a service that enables ordinary South Sudanese the opportunity to conveniently and securely top up their electricity from the comfort of their homes and places of work at anytime of the day or night”, Arinaitwe said last week in a press release announcing the start of the JEDCO partnership.

“I tested out the JEDCO payment option. Really simple, easy and it generates the token code immediately; besides the mobile app doesn’t seem to be using a lot of data”, Sarah said.
According to mGURUSH, one can access the service through an mGURUSH agent and instantly pay for electricity token, dial *355# on your zain line and select option 5, use the mGURUSH App and select ‘Electricity Payment’. There is also an option through WhatsApp by messaging ‘Hi’ to 0912 188 811 and Corporate or Business clients can access it through their mGURUSH web login.
