The Azande youth have called on the government to initiate dialogue between Alfred Futiyo Karaba, the governor of Western Equatoria State and Jemma Nunu Kumba the speaker for the revitalized transitional national legislative assembly.
John Migbiakumba Agustino, the chairperson of Azande youth association said the infighting between the two leaders is dividing people of Western Equatoria state.
“When they are playing this it is dividing us the youth, we are calling for dialogue between these two leaders so that we can build the nation,” Migbiakumba told journalists in Juba on Saturday at Cairo Hotel.
“The two leaders are from different political parties but whenever they are doing this it affects our progress as youth, we are calling on both of them to dialogue to bring peace to our state,” he said.
Last month, in a later dated August 31, 2023, Alfred Futiyo Karaba, the governor of Western Equatoria state asked President Salva Kiir to remove Jemma Nunu Kumba the speaker of the revitalized transitional national legislative assembly alleging she is inciting conflict among youth in Tombura County.
Migbiakumba said that Azande youth association is an independent body that works for well-being of all Azande youth in the country, adding that the youth group recommends the president and vice president to investigate the two warring leaders.
“We have come to know the Azande and Balanda are having misunderstanding, it is a surprise that we are seeing ourselves with Balanda as enemies,” he said.
