The Community Empowerment Progress Organization (CEPO) is urging the leadership and members of the revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly to pass the National Elections Act without any delay citing the deadline for election
Edmund Yakani, the Executive Director of Community Empowerment Progress Organization said that holding the forthcoming election on time is essential and it’s the only path for a successful power transition.
“Without Elections being conducted in December2024, political instability will rise and this will trigger a breakout of more violent incidents, he said’’.
The demonstrations of political deficit in trust and confidence for holding elections among top leadership of the country is higher, delaying the acceleration process of both legal and institutional framework.
He further urged the parliament to pass the National Security Service Act this week for reconstitution of the essential Political Transitional Assembly.
