The Central Equatoria State government launched on Friday a three-year development plan which focuses on peace and security, capacity building and infrastructure development
Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the Governor of Central Equatoria State, said institutions will be duty-bound to use the parameters of this document as a basis of their planning and budgeting.
He said the 2022/24 development blueprint will serve as the tool and yardstick for measuring the development projects and service delivery in the state.
“With the launching of this document today, all the stake-holders or institutions responsible for implementation are called upon to start preparing mechanisms to operationalize these activities individually in aspect of the plan contained in the state development plan,” Anthony said during the launching ceremony at Pyramid Hotel in Juba.
The development plan developed by the state ministry of finance with technical support from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the government of Japan, will also guide non-government actors on key priority sectors of development.
Samuel Doe, the Country Representative for UNDP, said that implementation of public financial management reforms will help promote transparency and service delivery across the state.
“This percussion is very much valued for providing the basis for the state to making focus on public financial management, and consequently on reviewing socio-economic development of your people,” Doe said.
He said that sound public financial management across the state and across the country, stems from the desire to provide social services to the people of Central Equatoria State and the people of South Sudan.
