The Africa Business Council (ABC) has called on South Sudan to participate in the upcoming Private -Sector Summit scheduled to start on November 14th in the Rwandan capital of Kigali.
Wendell Addy, the Chairperson for Africa Private-Sector who also doubles as the founding member of ABC on Saturday extended the invitation letter to President Salva Kiir and the Minister of Trade.
“For Africa to transform, it needs an active, strong private sector, it needs strong partnership with the government, and it needs strong partnership with the education system,” he told journalists in Juba.
Addy said that the private sector summit to end on November 17th will be held under the theme, “Unleashing the Private Sector for Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and beyond”.
Ayii Duang Ayii, President for South Sudan Business Community, said South Sudan stands to benefit from the experiences of other African countries.
“We declare our willingness to be part of Africa Business Council, our membership in trade union is very important for South Sudan, without private sector getting support and partnership so many things will not be achieved,” Duang said.
“South Sudan is part of Africa, and so we are ready to be part of Africa Business Council in order to provide services, we want to benefit from experiences of other African countries, we are requesting for support,” he added.
The Africa Business Council Summit in Kigali city seeks to review progress and refashion areas that need improvement, with focus on the bill of rights for enabling business environment in Africa.
