Two South Sudan People’s Defense Force officers were killed on Monday in motor crash in Aweil West County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state.
Anei Dut Awan, the traffic officer who spoke to journalists said that the land cruiser vehicle in which the slain officers were traveling to Gok-machar located in Aweil North County veered off the road and overturned.
He identified the deceased as Lt. Garang Mawein and Mou Dut Garang.
Awan attributed the cause of the accident to over speeding.
“The SSPDF car was going to Gok-machar and it overturned on spot. It is unfortunate that the two officers died immediately and the other four who got seriously injured were rushed to Aweil West County for treatment,” he said.
Lual Khamis Lual, the deputy director of Nyamlel hospital where the injured officers are receiving treatment said they will transfer them to Aweil hospital for better treatment.
