Trinity energy partners Lakes government to revive thermal power plant

Trinity Energy has partnered with the government of Lakes state to revive the thermal power plant in Rumbek town which has been not operational since 2013.

“As we speak, we want to ensure that we cut the cost of tariffs, the strategy is to operationalize the existing power plant, the state government needs a partner that can support and that is where Trinity Energy comes in,” said Philip Warden, the power project manager of Trinity Energy during press conference in Juba on Thursday.

Robert Mdeza, the chief executive officer for Trinity Energy said public-private partnership is key to improving electricity access and connectivity to people of South Sudan.

 “We believe a reliable and sustainable power supply will be much-needed catalyst for the transformation of livelihoods and economic growth, this project underlines our vision to electrify all the 10 states of South Sudan through interventions for the establishment of mini-grids to ensure the people of South Sudan access power quickly and cost-effectively,” said Mdeza.
