The minister of humanitarian affairs and disaster management said on Thursday that more than 5000 returnees are stranded in Paloch.
Albino Akol Atak, said these returnees lack means of transport to their destinations after arriving weary from war-torn Sudan.
“The situation in Paloch is not favorable, now we have more than 5000 people in Paloch waiting to be transported, we have moved them from the airport to some places where we will easily take them when we need them,” Atak told journalists in Juba.
The government has so far transported over 38000 people from Paloch to various destinations across the country.
Atak revealed that the staff deployed by the national ministry of humanitarian affairs and partners are busy registering new arrivals, adding that resources have been exhausted at the border points.

Atak revealed that about 49000 returnees are still stuck in the border town of Renk, adding that their presence is putting pressure on local resources.
