A woman gave birth on Sunday to quadruplets in Aweil civil hospital sparking joy among her relatives and bystanders.
Ayak Koryom Majok, 28, gave birth in the presence of her 45-year –old peasant husband Anei Anei who struggled to hold back his emotions after doctors informed him of the development.
The father of the quadruplets appealed to well-wishers to support him and his family because of the expenses needed to care for the new born babies.
“We are glad for the gift as a family and we see that these are gifts to the people of Mading Aweil and South Sudan as a whole. I am appealing to everyone to support us, we know that our country is facing economic crisis and as a result people are struggling on their own but the government has to give a supporting hand,” Anei told Juba Echo when interviewed in Aweil town.
“The government can step in to support these babies by contacting NGOs for support. Even one child is a big problem for us parents who are destitute,” he said.
For his part, the director for Aweil civil hospital Santino Jan Tong said that the babies are in good condition.
Ayak Koryom Majok gave birth to two boys and two girls.
