Two children went missing on Thursday in Bentiu internally displaced persons (IDP) camp sparking frantic search.
The girls aged 9 and 10 years had been sent by their mother, Nyapek Chuol Yiey to take cereals for grinding in sector-3 of Bentiu IDP camp, according to family sources.
The two missing children, despite frantic search on Friday are feared to have drowned in the high water caused by flooding since last year.
Nyapek Chuol Yiey, the mother of the two children told Juba Echo, that she immediately informed members of the Bentiu IDP camp high committee and police at around 9 P.M about the missing children.
“They went missing at 8:00 A.M, it’s not clear whether they drowned or someone took them to unknown location,” she said.
Last year, three bodies of children who went missing in Bentiu IDP camp were recovered floating on water after three days.
