South Sudan’s government says its embassy in Khartoum remains open despite clashes in Sudan.
The country’s minister in the office of the president Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin says the embassy will continue to support South Sudanese people in Sudan and also facilitate talks that the regional body, Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD intends to initiate.
President Salva Kiir is heading a team of IGAD heads of state and government to try and find solution to the violence in Sudan.
The team that president Salva heads are Kenyan president and Djibouti president.
Dr. Benjamin says president Kiir is ready to head to Khartoum as soon as the conditions are good enough for a plane to land in Sudanese capital.
