The national Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs Chol Thon Balok has assured the South Sudanese and the world of the ability of SSPDF to participate in the regional forces citing that the soldiers are well equip to act well for the operation.
Chol said during the take off of the soldiers at Juba international airport that forces would abide by the international standards and law in cooperation with the Congolese government.
“Our forces are ready to move, to go and carry out the important mission that has been assigned to them by the regional leadership.” he said “Our men and women in uniform will perform well in that uniform. I trust them, they are well trained, well oriented and they will do it to the satisfaction of everybody. They have in mind the international laws, the Geneva Convention and humanitarian laws in their hands.”
He called on the leaders to support the soldiers so as their mission is implemented successfully.
300 soldiers left for Goma the headquarter of the regional forces in DR. Congo in two Kenyan owned planes to join their East African counterpart for the peace mission.
The first batch of the soldiers had left for DR. Congo through road from Western Equatoria.
