South Sudanese capital Juba and Istanbul, the capital of Turkey have begun reviving economic and development ties.
The Mayor of Juba City, Kalisto Lado Faustino and the Turkish Ambassador to South Sudan, Erdem Mutaf, have reached an agreement to bring together business communities and development agencies in the two cities.
“Juba city and Istanbul are having good relationship to do with development and service delivery to people in the two cities since 2012 and that cooperation still exist up to now,” Faustino told reporters after meeting Mutaf yesterday.
That relationship, Faustino said, centers around developing the two cities and ensuring they deliver efficient services to the people.
The meeting agreed to initiate letter exchanges between businesses and development agencies in the two cities, he said.
Ambassador Mutaf commended the leadership of Juba City Council for the trust it bestowed on Istanbul.
He pledged cooperation from Turkey’s business communities and development agencies.
