Several Sudanese women who fled conflict to Wadwil refugee camp in Aweil West County in Northern Bahr El Gazal State are lacking antenatal services.
Mangar Bol, a youth activist in Wadwil camp, said that refugees who were brought to their area last week are struggling to access proper health services.
Bol said a refugee woman was rushed to Aweil Civil hospital after a miscarriage.
“The refugees are experiencing a lot of problems during this rainy season, they sleep in the open and many diseases are on the rise. One woman had a miscarriage,” said Bol.
He appealed to humanitarian organizations to provide essential services to the refugees.
“The humanitarian organizations have visited the camp, but they have not done much. It is rainy season and when it rains heavily it will impact the refugees as cases of pneumonia among children will occur,” said Bol.
More than 70,000 people including returnees and Sudanese refugees have fled to South Sudan following outbreak of conflict on April 15.
