Aweil town authorities said on Thursday they will start cracking down on owners of homes without pit latrines in a bid to prevent open defecation.
Charles Malong Anyuon, deputy mayor for planning and development, said they have formed committee that will be moving door to door to ascertain the number of people with proper pit latrines.

He said owners of homes without pit latrines will be fine10,000 South Sudanese Pounds.
