Residents in Malek-Alel area of Aweil South County will enjoy improved health services after they acquired the first primary health care center.
Dr. Aleu Pioth, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State said on Monday that facility will be stocked with drugs and equipment to provide enhanced health services.
“The Malek-Alel PHCC will have additional consignments of drugs to help treat diseases which are on the rise in the county as it is the only health facility attended in the county,” he said.
Aleu also said that other health facilities in Malual-kon and Nyamlel will soon also be upgraded to primary health care center status.
Most of the health facilities in the state and the greater Bahr El Ghazal region often run out of drugs due to some medics stealing the drugs which they later sell to private pharmacies for profit.
