The Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State,Tong Aken Ngor on Wednesday donated brand new generator to Aweil hospital mortuary.
Peter Dut Thiep, the Acting Director General in the ministry of health, said the mortuary has for years lacked reliable power.
“It has been for ages that the hospital has been receiving corpses without electricity. For people who pass on and their relatives are far they are being kept without refrigerators as electricity has been lacking,” Dut said.
He said they are going to collaborate with the administration of the hospital to ensure proper management of the power equipment.
Aweil hospital serves people from all the six counties of Northern Bahr El Ghazal and neighboring Warrap State.
