At least twenty women have sharpened their skills in business management and development through the training organized by empower youth Africa (EYA) and Rejoice in the lord ministries.
Held under the theme; “your skill is your ability” the training aimed at impacting businesses in the country.
Grace Adeng, one of the participants while speaking to this publication on the sideline of the seminar said that shortage of capital and space renting are stumbling blocks to several businesses in South Sudan.
“To start a successful business, one requires determination to face the hurdles that come with it in terms of monetary resources,” she depicted.
The lady participant disclosed that the capital that is in one’s hand determines the kind of business that one can start but also indicated that management of business affairs is yet another challenge that hamper the success of most businesses.
“A lot of businesses have been started by different individuals but they don’t last even a year, the economy of the country itself is not stable and this has huge negative impact on businesses,” she said.
Most young people in mobile money business in Juba who buy float in dollar are not able to sustain their businesses due to uncertainty in the value of South Sudanese pound against the dollar, she observed.
Relatedly, Aguak Bak, another participant who was also reached out by this website said that business location is one of the most important decisions any business makes whether it is setting up a brick-and-mortar business or launching an online store, the choices you make can affect your taxes, legal requirements, and revenue.
“The legal structure you choose for your business will impact your business registration requirements, how much you pay in taxes, and your personal liability, it’s not easy to pick the perfect name,” he said.
