The governor of Unity State, Dr. Joseph Nguen Munytuil issued a gubernatorial decree in Bentiu on Thursday suspending the state’s information minister with immediate effect.
“Yes it’s true that I am suspended indefinitely effective effective 16th December 2021, I was not given any reason for my suspension.”The Minister of Information, Communication, Telecommunication and Postal Services in Unity State Gabriel Hon Makuei to Juba Echo on phone from Bentiu,
Makuei is the third official in the Unity State to be suspended.
The commissioner of Rubkona county Mr. Gattluak Wichar was suspened in November and reinstated on December 17th.2021.
The Minister of Health, Lam Dhil Chang who were indefinitely suspended in August.
The information minister was appointed into the state government on the ticket of SPLM – IG when the state government in unity was reconstituted in February this year
Whereas the commissioner of Rubkona was appointed into the state government of Unity State on the ticket of the main opposition group, the SPLM – IO, the health minister was appointed on the ticket of OPP, all are signatories of the 2018 peace agreement.
