Thousands Muslims celebrate Edir El Adha in Juba

Thousands of Muslim have marked three days festival for Eid Al Adha in Juba on Tuesday as they wished everyone peace and joyful celebration in brotherhood and sisterhood manners. 

Ramadan Abbas said the day was marked in the light of joy and faith in a bid to celebrate Eid Al- Adha in a meaningful manner. 

“Today (Tuesday) Muslim brotherhoods will be sharing meals and gifts among their neighborhoods especially poor people. It is ideal to share with poor at this particular moment and this is the essence of this festival,” he explained. 

Mr. Abbas called for peace and tranquility in South Sudan as the country continues to embrace such celebrations. 

“We urged the government and citizens to maintain peace and stability for us to continue with such celebration in the Country,”he added.

Amida Hussein appreciated the gathering, echoing that the security should be constantly maintained on the eve of such celebrations without interruptions. 

“We wish to have continuous peaceful atmosphere without further insecurity to continue celebrating Edid Al-dhar throughout the Country,” she stated. 

Sebu Suleiman, American-South Sudanese citizen said it was awesome to share in prayers  in Juba after spending about 30 years in South Dakota, the USA. 

“ I am very glad to have joined this festival in Juba after 30 years in South Dakota in USA and now I am going back tomorrow with my family.

“I will tell our brothers and sisters in the US to come back home,since there is relevancy of peace in the Country,” Suleiman said. 

A family man of three wives Mr. Suleiman pledged to return if the country achieves a total peace and tranquility in the near future.

“You can see my families here with me and we are travelingtomorrow (Wednesday) to USA and I will be back with them if there is this peace and security in Juba”, he added. 

The Muslim gathering was heavily attended by Sheik and high profile government officials including Security advisor to the President Mr. Tut Gatluak Manime. 

Juba Echo was able to catch up with Muslim worshippers during the gathering in Juba to share their joy and happiness as the day was being commemorated.
