The governments of South Sudan and Bangladesh are set to soon sign cooperation agreement on trade.
This was revealed on Sunday by Deng Dau Deng, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation during the 51st independence anniversary of Bangladesh held at Crown Hotel in Juba.
“South Sudan is discussing to have a (Bangladesh) consulate in Juba so that most of you can benefit, and can also exchange and do a lot of business,” said Dau during his speech at the ceremony.
“We will be signing cooperation agreement very soon, we have discussed it at higher level of our two governments,” he added.
Dau disclosed that the ongoing discussion involve the Ministries of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Trade and Industry, Agriculture and Food security and Foreign Affairs.
“I want you to conduct good business because this area of communication is a very sensitive area of national security, I really want you to work, get all the authentication from National Communication Authority, Ministry of Information, Telecommunication and Postal Services and media authority so that you have a correct business in South Sudan,” said Dau.
Md.Nazrul Islam, the Bangladesh Ambassador to Ethiopia and South Sudan, said his country is ready to share its experience and expertise with South Sudan.
“We are very happy to celebrate in a country which also has shared the same struggle for freedom, we have some achievements in different sectors of society and economy, we think that we can bring those experiences and expertise to South Sudan and other parts of Africa,” said Islam.
