The coordinator for Relief and Rehabilitation Commission for Aweil South County in Northern Bahr El Gazal state is appealing to the humanitarian organizations in the state to deliver aid to the flood-affected population of Aweil South County.
Daniel Aduol Bol says more than 17,000 households in Aweil South county are desperate as their homes were submerged last months due to floods
“I am requesting aid agencies to make assessment and move and see how people are languishing in Aweil South County” Aduol asked.
He said Non Food Items such as plastic sheets for people to make new roofing and food are among essentials that people require urgently.
“The UN organizations like UNMISS though they don’t give food. They have capacity in coordination through meetings. I am appealing to them to do the needful for the needy” He added.
Floods have also destroyed heath centers in the area.
The state authorities has started assessing condition of roads that were destroyed by the floods disconnecting many residents from the capital Aweil.
