A plane belonging to Optimum Aviation has crashed today at around 11:00am local time shortly after takeoff from Juba International Airport. It was headed for Maban according to Kur Kuol, the Director General of Juba International Airport.
Details are still scarce on the cause of the crash and number of casualities as authorities were yet to get to the crash site.
An administrator at Optimum aviation who does not prefer to be mentioned due to lack of authorisation confirmed to the Juba Echo that indeed their flight has crashed in Kondokoro Island but they are yet trying to get a security clearance from the port authorities to cross the river in order to access the crash site.
