The Ministry of Higher Education in Northern Bahr El Gazal State has availed scholarship slots for Senior four and diploma holders to apply.
This was revealed Friday by Santino Bol Akot Nguel the Director of General of the State Ministry of Higher Education during press conference in Aweil town.
The scholarships are being offered by the Ethiopian government.
Bol said that all interested applicants have until January 20 next year to hand in their personal identification and academic credentials.
“The Ministry of Education, particularly from the office of Madam Hon.Awut Deng Achuil has granted us about 200 scholarships in Ethiopia,” he said.
Bol said the requirements range from certificates of Senior 4, diploma, and national identity and passports.
He added that these are opportunities that need to be taken up by the local population since the state does not have a university.
“These people (students) are required to go to Ethiopia to study degree and Masters programs, drop your documents in our office and we will act on them by sending them to Juba before January 20th ,” Said Bol.
The state authorities including the local chiefs have been contributing money to ensure that the University of Northern Bahr El Gazal is operation to reduce on the number of students seeking education outside the state.
