Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died of injuries sustained on Thursday after being shot twice at a political campaign event in the city of Nara.
Many Japanese people were eagerly awaiting reports from the hospital where Mr. Abe was taken for treatment but the news that came out is that the former Prime Minister has succumb to the injuries.
The doctor further said Shinzo Abe bled to death and that a team of doctors tried in vain to save him for hours.
“No vital signs were detected by the time the former prime minister was transferred to the hospital.” Said one of the doctors at a press conference at the hospital where Abe passed on.
“Abe fell into a cardiopulmonary arrest state at the scene of the crime”, the doctor added
He also says a bullet caused wounds in Abe’s shoulder
