AU envoy urges South Sudan to work closely with Fanwise Network

The government of South Sudan has been requested to work closely with Fanwise Network in order to provide opportunities for women.

“I see more opportunities for women in the horizon as the country’s peace agreement enters the final phase of implementation in the extended  24 months roadmap, I urge all political stakeholders to seize this unique opportunity to recognize South Sudan Fanwise Network,” said Jerome Biswaro, the Special Envoy for the African Union in South Sudan during the closing of a three- days symposium organized by Fanwise Network at Palm Africa Hotel in Juba.

Biswaro disclosed that partners and friends of South Sudan have worked hard to provide opportunities for women’s engagement as provided for in the revitalized peace agreement such as 35 percent women representation.

“It is important to promote women, and this is to promote the important role played by women, we have to plan to come up with a joint roadmap and plan of action towards building and enhancement of strategies for the promotion of women,” said Ayaa  Benjamin Warrille, the national minister for gender, child and social welfare.
