3000 Sudanese camping in Aweil North County-Information Minister

The Information Minister for Northern Bahr El Gazal State, William Anyuon Kuol said that 2,700 Sudanese fleeing conflict have arrived in Kiir-Adem

William Anyuon Kuol revealed to the media that the government over was in Kiir-Adem over the weekend to find out the number of new arrivals both the South Sudanese and Sudanese people

“We went on Saturday and it was so hot while we were at Kang-beek in Kiir-adem. And buses came with new arrivals. 1000 South Sudanese came and they are stationed at Kiir-Adem, Mayom Angok. And we asked for the number of the Sudanese and they told us that they are 2700. We didn’t count them but we are going to set up a team to get the accurate number” He said

Anyuon said the humanitarian organizations are working to ensure that the supplies are delivered to them such as the Non-food items and the foodstuffs.

“The committee is going to find out the accurate number. When we went there we got a lot of people and children were crying and the number is huge. The organizations (aid agencies) held meetings with us and they promised to be delivering the food assistance immediately. The South Sudanese will trace the families and be integrated into their original families” Anyuon said

The Sudanese according to Anyuon will be hosted by the state authorities till the situation gets calm in Sudan.

The ceasefire that the two generals have agreed to is being observed and monitored closely by the international community as they pledged that they will go for negotiations.
