At least 280 police officers have graduated after undergoing four months training in Aweil town of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.

Tong Aken Ngor, the Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, urged the fresh graduates to clamp down on criminals amid rising crime in Aweil town and it’ns environs.

Police Commissioner Philip Madut Tong, said the four-month refreshment training equipped the officers with knowledge on enforcing law and order.

“Your role is to keep law and order. We have to protect the citizens’ lives and their property,” Madut said during the graduation ceremony in Freedom Square on Monday.

He counseled the officers to desist from taking bribes.

Garang Dut, a trainee from Aweil Center County, said they are glad to have accomplished the training course successfully.

“We are happy for having finished the four month training. This is a huge opportunity for us to serve our nation,” he said.
