The Minister of General Education and Instruction, Awut Deng Acuil said on Wednesday that they plan to improve investment in quality education through embracing public-private partnerships.
She said that under this arrangement private companies will team up with the government to deliver education services, adding that both the education ministry and the private companies will use available resources to improve education.
“Our government has prioritized the issue of education, the resources we have are enough, and all institutions in the States are also benefiting from our resources,” said Acuil during the closing of the three-day workshop on digital education in Juba.
Acuil said that the government is committed to ensuring proper training of teachers and also improved remuneration.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) estimates that about 2.8 million children are out of school in the country due to early marriage, flooding, and sub-national conflicts.
