The community in Koch County on Friday gifted 130 animals to Justice Riak Bim Top, the newly appointed Governor of Unity State.
“Today we are receiving the new Unity State Governor for the first time, everybody is happy and we will celebrate the peace tour in a good mood, as we are receiving the new Governor, we have contributed 30 bulls and 100 goats as special gifts to him,” said Daniel Deng Mayiel, the spokesperson for Koch County Commissioner during an interview in Koch County.
He said that the gifts demonstrate the culture of hospitality of the people of Koch County.
Deng said that all government officials, traditional leaders, the elderly, disabled persons, and youths stayed awake working to prepare for the Governor’s reception.
“Everybody has been out of his or her home since last night to celebrate the coming of the Governor because we are expecting development in terms of rehabilitating roads, hospitals, and schools that have been submerged by floods,” said Deng.
He added that the Governor’s visit to the area will go a long way in cementing peace and improved security across Koch County.
The Governor recently concluded his visit to Panyijiar and Leer Counties aimed at drumming up peace and unity in the State.
