The government of Warrap State on Tuesday graduated 1,200 police personnel at Kuajok Freedom Square after three-month police refreshment training.
The training drew 200 personnel from each county of the State to attend training in Wartiit police training center in Kuajok.
Kuol Muor Muor, the Governor of Warrap State thanked the National Minister of Interior, the Deputy Minister, and the leadership of the National Police Service for reforming the police.
Muor disclosed that the police trainees will be deployed to complement the efforts of achieving peace and tranquility across the State.
He urged the trainees to be disciplined and also to refrain from corrupt tendencies and bribery.
Muor also called for support from the national government and development partners to help the State government build more police stations and spacious detention centers.
Lt. Gen Thomas Jal Thomas, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) asked the trainees to practice the doctrine of the police service that they have learned from training.
Maj. Gen Manyok Jurkuc Deng, the Warrap State Police Commissioner appreciated the State leadership for standing firm with the Warrap police administration during training of the police personnel.
Shady Hassan, the representative of the Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), said that the police trainees need to undertake their duties with diligence and also observe their uniforms as symbols of Integrity, compassion to the society, and accountability.
