The Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) has categorically refuted allegations regarding the receipt of medical allowances by its members. The spokesperson for the assembly, Oliver Mori, stated that the made claims are unfounded and have led to serious repercussions for some legislators, including threats stemming from the rumors.
Mori noted that over the past four years, there has been a significant decline in the health of its members pointing out that many legislators are suffering from various illnesses but are unable to access necessary medical treatment.
“For the last four years, nothing so far has come forward,” Mori stated. “Since then up to now, this parliament is almost losing a member every three or four months because they are falling sick but cannot afford to send members abroad for medications.” he told media during an urgent media breifing at the parliament.
