Authorities in Unity State have confirmed that the famous 80 years- old man was killed in Gany Payam of Koch county of Unity State after being accused by his community for being using witchcraft for killing people.
The Son of the deceased told Juba Echo that his Father was killed on 25 of June at 12: 00 PM.
” My Father was killed due to witchcraft allegations but currently they family decide to control the situation to avoid retaliation and revenge killing because the person who killed my father is also one of our relatives. my father is not witchcraft but he was cattle keeper,”
He promised that there will be no revenge killing although they lost their Father in bad face in the community.
Meanwhile, the Koch County police commander Brigadier General Tut Wal Dang has confirmed that the two perpetrators reported themselves to police custody in Gany Payam.
” The suspects were known to have them in the detention facility, you know the perpetrators accused the deceased for performing witchcraft in the community against famous people in the community, we know the two committed crimes against humanity but we will handle it according to South Sudan laws.” Koch county police commander brigadier general Tut Wal Dang stated.
