Ruweng Administrative Area Accuses Unity State’s Rubkona County Youth Killing Dozen Residents

The Ruweng Administrative Area Acting Minister of Information and Minister of Education Santo Lual has condemned Unity State armed youths for killing Aling County Executive Director and at least 13 others.

Minster Lual said the fighting started as cattle raiding between Rubkona County’s Leek community and Aliny County armed youths and later escalated to borders disputes.

” As I am speaking now heavy fighting is ongoing as unity state Rubkona cattle army youths attacked Tor Parieng, Timsos oilfield Katnar and Hopura village under Ruweng administrative area,” Lual told Juba Echo reporter in an exclusive interview yesterday.

He said, at the time of the press, that the fighting was already on its second day, was advancing towards Parieng town with unknown number of Sudanese refugees and returnees displaced from Pan-Akuach, North of Rubkona County.

“Today fighting is more worse than yesterday’s because several people were wounded and many more were killed as fighting continue to advance toward Parieng town,” Lual said adding that his community was for peace.

Lual urges South Sudan People Defense Force (SSPDF) Infantry division to contain the current situation between Unity State and Ruweng Administrative armed youths.

However, South Sudan people defense Force (SSPDF) Division 4 Commander Maj. Gen. William Manyang Mayak said sent SSPDF to deescalate the tensions.

“We have already sent South Sudan people Defence Force SSPDF to control and to protect civilians between the two communities,” Manyang said.
