The NGO Action for Conflict Resolution (ACR) organized sports activities among internally displaced persons in Bentiu IDP camp sector 2 to spread awareness on human rights and gender equality.
Chakuoth Peter Raan, the field office program coordinator for ACR, said the one-day event supported with funding from Norwegian People’s Aid aimed at mitigating gender-based violence and also protection of human rights.

“This public engagement also involved community leaders and this public discourse on basic human rights and gender equality will continue with support from Norwegian People’s Aid,” Raan told Juba Echo on Tuesday in Bentiu IDP camp.
Gatkuoth Mawic Puok , the head teacher of Lich primary school appreciated Action for Conflict Resolution for organizing football competition between two primary schools to spread awareness on human rights and gender equality.
For her part, Kayodi Patricia the monitoring and evaluation officer for ACR said the one day event will mitigate domestic violence and gender based violence in the community.
“The reason why we have organized public discourse on basic human rights and gender equality is to share views on human rights principles and gender equality, mitigating domestic violence and gender based violence in the community,” she said.
