A man suspected to have torched five grass thatched in Udhum payam of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has been arrested by police. The suspect Pan-Kot Bol,29, is accused of committing the crime last week in Udhum village.
Atak Wol Kiir, a police officer handling the case claims that the suspect after an altercation with his wife and relatives got angry and decided to torch the houses belonging to his family members.
Wol said that cows in kraal near the affected houses were killed in the fire.
“I want to appeal our people in the state and beyond to seek better methods of solving conflict,” he told Juba Echo on Monday. Wol advised parents to seek amicable solutions of solving conflict with their children to avoid escalation into violence.
