TRIPOLI, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of illegal African immigrants stranded at the border between Libya and Tunisia are living in dire conditions after being expelled by Tunisian authorities, a Libyan official told Xinhua on Sunday. "A large number of African illegal immigrants remain in a vast desert area between Tunisia and Libya. They are living under tragic conditions, with a lack of food and drinking water in very hot weather," said Abdullah al-Fak'hal, commander of the desert patrols of the Libyan Illegal Immigration Control Department. The humanitarian crisis at the Tunisia-Libya border has intensified in recent weeks, with more immigrants' bodies discovered by Libyan Border Control in uninhabited areas. Enditem
