Businessman Garang Lual Lual who hails from Aweil North County was on Sunday killed in road crash involving a speeding truck along Aweil-Wanyjok road.
The Acting Director for Traffic in Aweil town, Angou Deng in an interview on Tuesday blamed the truck driver for speeding.
He said the deceased was traveling on a motorbike before he was hit by a truck coming from Aweil East County heading toward Aweil town.
Angou said three people have so far been killed in road crash in July alone.
John Yai Koch, the director for roads and bridges in the ministry of roads and bridges in Northern Bahr El Ghazal state, said potholes along the roads need to be filled to mitigate motor accidents.
“We in the ministry of roads and bridges know about the damaged parts on the highway. I want to appeal to our road users that we are working hard to fix them (potholes) by engaging the companies contracted by the state government to renovate them,” Koch said.
Trucks belonging to road construction companies are accused by residents of reckless driving that have caused several accidents along major highways in the state.
