As senior official in the Ministry of Health promised on Tuesday to improve working condition for health workers at the main referral Juba Teaching Hospital.
Adier Machar Achiek, the undersecretary for the national ministry of health told staff at Juba Teaching Hospital during a working visit to the facility.
“We know working environment is not conducive but at least we need to do our part, though the situation is not favorable we will altogether rectify it to make the environment conducive,” he said.
Gibson Natana, the director for Juba Teaching Hospital, said that motivation and retention of staff is the major issue at the health facility.
“The challenges are issues of unreliable electricity and hygiene and issues to do with staff motivation and retention, indeed Juba Teaching Hospital is a mirror and any effort to improve services in this hospital will be a giant step in improving health in the country,” Natana said.
