Christian Agency for Peace and Development (CAPaD) on Friday, 28 April 2023 trained over 50 youth on discourse on Financial Accountability, Transparency and Institutional Reforms in Bor.
The one day training workshop was funded by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA). The Worksop aimed at empowering youth for active participation to experience exchanges, cooperation, cultural and civic action such activities are non-formal learning activities revolving around active participation of young people.
To make sure social accountability promotes empowerment of social groups, social cohesion and inclusion particularly when marginalized, vulnerable and other socially excluded groups are involved and their concerns and interests get attention. It enables bringing all members of the community together around a common interest and strengthens young people’s sense of identity, belief in the future, self-regulation, and self-efficacy as well as their social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural competence.
To aware Youth that Reliable and regularly updated financial and results data are an essential component of informing, monitoring, reporting and evaluating progress towards achieving decent work for all and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was held under the theme” Youth-Led Public Discourse on Financial Accountability, Transparency and Institutional Reforms”
Participants said that State Budget is not known and no system of finance in the Ministry and they commented favourably on the event content, methods and learning techniques used and particularly appreciated the time devoted to groups activities, as it provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, emerging practices and lessons learnt.
With regards to event, participants said that the Topic of discussion was very helpful and the content and exercises used in the event helped them understand the topic and its significance.
Participants found the event messages to be very helpful and shared that presentations were very easy to understand because simple and easy terminologies were used during the event hours. Other factors such as time division and topics covered in during the event were well-received by the participants.
