“I have heard the horrific stories about how the conflict affected them. I assured them that the government of South Sudan together with IGAD is working around the clock to persuade the warring factions to end the war,” Ngor told Journalists last week in Kiir-Adem.

Ngor said that apart from food and medicines, they also delivered clothes to the affected civilians.

He said they have established high-level taskforce charged with resettling the returnees.

Ngor said that the thousands of returnees in Kiir-Adem of Aweil North County will be relocated to other parts of the state.

The people fleeing fighting in neighboring Sudan are not only in Kiir-Adem but also in Mayom-ango and Majok-Yithiou which border Sudan.

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) szaid more than 32,000 civilians mostly South Sudanese and other foreign nationalities like Eritean, Somali, Sudanese and Ethiopian have crossed into South Sudan since fighting broke out on April 15 between rival military factions in Sudan.
