A UN plane belonging to the Rwandan contingent taking government officials to Bor this morning crashed one-minute after take off in Ayod County of Jonglei State.
The Director General for Juba International Airport Kur Kuol Ajieu said reasons behind the crashing are however not yet known but investigation will be carried out to find out what was behind the accident.
“During a takeoff less than one minute, the plane landed back. The passengers who are on board are all safe,” he assured.
Kur said the plane is slightly damaged but that no one was injured.
“We are waiting for a report of the investigation,” he said “ I can not say the plane is over loaded. The helicopter takes almost 30 passengers plus luggage. This plane had 16 passengers and some light luggage”
The plane crashed in Gul airstrip in Ayod area.
