The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Friday donated a vehicle and laptops to the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare.
“I appreciate the support provided by UNFPA in expanding the Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare’s vision of gender equal society where everyone has an opportunity to utilize their full potential,” said Aya Benjamin Warrille , Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare during the ceremony in Juba.
She said UNFPA are long-standing partners in changing the social norms that hinder equal opportunities for women and men, girls and boys, and vulnerable populations to equally thrive in society.
Warrille said that the vehicle and laptops provided by UNFPA will assist them in ameliorating the transport and communications challenges.
“The Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare has been a flag-bearer for gender equality and UNFPA remains available to assist the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare to realize the vision of a gender equal society,” said Dr. Ademola Olajide, Country Representative, UNFPA South Sudan.
