Cabinet passes NRA human resource policy aimed at improving performance

The Council of Ministers on Friday approved the National Revenue Authority Human Resource Policy presented by the Minister of Finance and Planning Dier tong Ngor.

This was revealed by Dr. Jacob Maiju Korok, the Deputy Minister of Information, Communication, Technology and Postal Services in Juba after the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by President Salva Kiir concluded.

 “The Minister of Finance and Planning Dier Tong Ngor has presented National Revenue Authority human resources policy, this policy is very important and very critical it actually helps in clearing all the challenges affecting NRA,” said Korok

The policy was presented together with three- related documents that include NRA scheme of services, staff regulation, and the conduct of code of staff.

Korok added that the human resource manual also details the activities of the NRA.

“This policy is very critical to promote issues of recruitment and also facilitates day –to- day operation of the NRA,” he said.

The deputy information minister emphasized that NRA is the backbone of the economy, adding the policy manual will enable the revenue collecting body work efficiently and effectively.

 “This policy is very critical and central for effective and efficient operation of NRA, it regulates the recruitment process, promotion performance and integrity which fits into the operationalization of NRA strategic plan developed two years ago,” said Korok.

He revealed that revenue collection improved this year because government adapted new technology like E-services and E-tax.
