A total of 44,215 pupils have passed the 2021/22 Certificate for Primary Examinations (CPE) with performance index of 89.3 percent.
This was revealed Thursday by Martin Tako Moyi, the Deputy Minister for General Education and Instruction in Juba.
The results released by the national examination council disclosed that pupils from Unity State performed best compared with other states and three administrative areas. Unity State had 1,717 who passed with performance index of 87.5 percent.
John Deng Aruai from Alpha Junior academy in Jonglei State emerged the overall best pupil in the country with a score of 479 out of the total 500 marks.
Aruai was followed by Nicodemus Abuk with 479 from St. Andrew nursery and primary school in Jonglei state.
54,361 pupils registered for the examination but only 49,541 candidates finally attended the examination.
The number of the male candidates who sat for the final exams were 29,173 and 20,398 females.
The surprise was Pibor Aadministrative Area with performance index of 77.8 percent.
The best performed subjects were Christian Religious Education and Social Studies, while English, Mathematics were the worst performed subjects.
